22 Years of Marriage..."To The Same Woman!"

Happy 22nd Marriage Anniversary to the sexiest woman on this here Earth!

My "Queen Gloria"....25 years ago I saw this lady sitting over in a corner minding her own business in a rehearsal gospel singing group name "Essence of Christ Singers". I asked another member of the group who was that over in the corner What is her name? The next words out of my mouth was that is my future wife. There was a six years different in age, which was a concern for her and her family for that matter. Of course, a younger man older lady she thought I was a young guy playing games I can understand that thinking look back at it now telling someone you just met that they were your wife. As confident and talented that I was...I'm afraid to share that I chased her around for three years showing her that I was and still on point to win her love for me just, like the first time I laid eyes on her(corny but true). Ok, you want to know what I said to her to win the Gift of a Life-Time....." I just want to be your friend" Yes, sir Friends before anything else. I learned her favorite color, hopes & dreams, goals, perfume, movie actors, books and the author names, candy bar, music artists, she is a big die-hard NFL Oakland Raiders Fans still until this day, her styles of likes and dislikes etc.....you name it I learned it. See ladies and gentleman I learned that word "Intimacy" for some women not speaking on behalf of all women (of course) Emotional Intimacy is a need of IN-TO-ME-YOU-SEE. Women want a man that is into the complete package of who they are.
I kept it simple and short to the main focus point "HER"....yes, it took some work but guess what?
I got her on August 29, 1987 we got married as husband & wife.

I would like to share this poem that I've written for her years ago....Corny, but it's from my heart (don't use it tomorrow).

To My Queen Gloria.....
I choose you to be my lover and my best friend, because you're the one I can always depend on.
You hold my hand, you wipe my tears, but most of all you calm my fears.
You make me laugh and sometime cry, but I know we will never say goodbye.
I choose you now this time in my life, and commit forever to be your husband.
I choose you because you are my lover and " BEST FRIEND" to this statement there is no end.

The Bible examples to me in Proverbs 18:22...
He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD. (NIV)
Another one that I love is in Ephesians 5:25-31....
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansinga]"> her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." (NIV)
Our monthly affirmations to one another:
I vow to love my spouse more and more each day.
I vow to appreciate my spouse more and more each day.
I vow to make my marriage a priority in my life.
I vow to put more time, energy and commitment into my marriage than I put into my job, hobby and children.
I vow to honor and respect my spouse more and more each day.
I want for other couples what I want for myself, a healthy marriage.
I will work to be an advocate for healthy marriages in my community.
Understanding my spouse helps me to see us together forever.........

Much Love to the one I Love....

  3. Good Day Ms. Kimberly,
Thank you so very much on your openness and comments on my Blog page Whyte23.
You are so correct that many couples forget the words that they exchanged on their day they pick before witnesses...whether written by the couple, or poetry, lyrics or vows from a mixture of religious traditions used. "To have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part.".... After the honeymoon; now the real work begins. As you already pointed out in your last comments.
I would be very honor to be another resource for the Leaders of the Marriage Enrichment Ministry within your church.
Yes, I agree I applaud you for picking up on the Holy Spirit to stop and ready my page.
When I started writing and sharing my points of view online via my blog and the FRS site. I've said to myself if one person get something from it in a positive manner.
I would be very blessed...and humbled...by word of encouragement of others.
    Thank you once again.
Keep helping others to be better than yesterday...Ms. Kimberly A. Williams, L.M.S.W.
    Marcus-
